skjærgårds!

Hello hello, I'm back again:)

Last weekend I went snowboarding at Trysil with Salem - I've actually started to get the hang of it, which is SO great coz it's such a pain, literally, falling all the time and getting up and being bruized all over by the end of the day.. But now I'm much better, and it's so fun!! Worth trying ;)

Ok, big news: I'm singing at the music and mission festival in Skjærgårds!! --> not on the main stage of course - it'll be a 45 minute concert with me plus Johannes on guitar and Dan-Thomas on jamba, in a small room (sjøbua) ..Pretty big thing for me though! Looking forward to it :) All norway-friends: you have to come !

Thought I'd start publishing some of my newest songs / poems here as well...
This one's a song about those who are "allergic" to church, God, Jesus - for understandable reasons. It makes me sad.. you don't know what you're missing when you shut your eyes to something or someone because of past hurts you unconciously associate them with.. It always comes down to that choice; to face things and to forgive..

I see you lie beneath a clouded sky,
you think there lies nothing beyond.
A wall of rage you've built around your mind;
a lonely stage you can sing from.

In the cold I listen
and I am told to freeze
I am told there's no way
you will unfold and forgive
and so you will live;
locked into your self

I wish, I pray that you will see some day
beyond the clouds there's an ocean
of stars and frail prayers that souls have prayed

for you to see heaven's open

God's creation...

If we believe God created the world, for us, I think it would make Him happy that we receive it with thanks. And appreciate it. And if it's not just for me, but for us, I think it would make Him happy if I'd stop blindly using up so much more than my share of this great gift.. Norwegians are very good at keeping their eyes shut, in many ways, and so am I - it's so comfy here in Norway you see. Easy to fall asleep. But I don't want to. I want to honor God with my life..

Når Gud Taler

Okey, er det noe dere må lese så er det denne boken, den heter God Calling på engelsk. Det er en andaktsbok, så det passer perfekt også for deg som ikke er så glad i å lese. Litt hver dag. Eller litt når du blir leda til det.

Den er helt fantastisk bra, jeg har gitt den i gave til noen venner og de synes også den er veldig inspirerende og utfordrende - og det er utrolig hvor ofte det som står der treffer deg midt i hjertet. Du kan lese mer om den (og i den) her:

islam og jødene

Vi kan se på tv og få med oss alt av nyhetsoppslag og debatter om islam og muhammed tegninger og blasfemi og situasjonen i midtøsten og krangel og hat... Kan være greit å få med seg litt annet enn det media viser oss. Jeg har en bok å anbefale:

kampen som ikke er over - islam og jødene av Mark A. Gabriel.

Bakpå står det: "Mark Gabriel (forfatteren) har vært en overgitt muslim, men han er nå en overgitt kristen. Det er en kraftig påminnelse om hvordan kjærligheten kan overvinne hatet. Forvandlingen som har skjedd i hjertet hans gjør at han kan velsigne det jødiske folk i stedet for å øse ut forbannelse og hat." Selv skriver han: "Jeg har ikke hatt islam som et forskningsprosjekt. Jeg har levd det i 32 år!"

Videre står det:

Det er kraftige kulturelle og åndelige krefter som forklarer

• hvorfor palestinerne avviser fredstilbud
• hvorfor radikale muslimer angriper de som støtter Israel, spesielt amerikanere
• hvorfor muslimer dreper jøder i Allah sin guds navn når islam er en fredens religion
• hvorfor Koranen kaller jødene "barn av apekatter og griser"
